We are thrilled to present the Advocate for Justice award to Miriam Buhl, Pro Bono Counsel at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Ekow N. Yankah, Innocence Project Board member and Professor of Law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University for their tremendous contributions to our work.
The evening will also feature exoneree presentations and a special performance by the Exoneree Band, a rock group made up of five exonerated men who write and perform songs about injustice and their own wrongful convictions.

The Innocence Project provides pro bono post-conviction legal assistance to people whose claims of innocence can be proven by DNA testing. First launched as a legal clinic in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, our mission is to free the innocent and bring substantive reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment.
